permissions and opt-in
Right, so. Misaki here has several abilities that require opt-in permissions, as well as a blanket permission for her being a Weird Asshole. This post will serve as an opt-in as well as somewhere to discuss plots with some of her abilities!
General Opt-In: Misaki is a Nosy Fucking Asshole with some slightly stalkerish tendencies. If you are okay with her tracking your character on the network, including breaking into any post that is at all hackable to read that shit, opt in here.
Shadow Reading: Similar to telepathy, Misaki can gain an understanding of the darkest desires of someone if she touches them! If you would like for Misaki to be able to read someone's desires and dark urges/intrusive thoughts they'd like kept secret, opt in here.
Contract Magic: Misaki can enter into magically binding contracts, which largely means she can track you down to make you repay her for favors given, and must repay favors owed, so long as the debt was vocally acknowledged. While ICly Misaki can make and enforce these contracts even if the other party didn't know they were getting into one, oocly these are completely opt-in. If you would like to get into a magical contract with Misaki, comment here!
Grimalkin: Grimalkin is a horrible chthonic entity shaped vaguely like a gigantic fluffy cat, and he likes to steal things of magical power or emotional significance. If you would like this fluffy asshole to steal something, you can opt-in here!
Bakeneko: Another horrible cat demon, this one is cantankerous and has a cursed bite! The curse is no more than an appropriately themed karmic justice, and can be broken by gaining Bakeneko's forgiveness. It can also likely be broken by other magical means, but Misaki cannot guarantee anything but the cat. If you would like to opt-in to being bitten by an asshole cat, comment here!

Briefly describe their darkest wishes, most repressed desires, or just their intrusive thoughts that she'd pick up on.
+ rem's desire for peace was so strong that in the last cycle of her world, she ascended to become Judge/was chosen for it, deemed humanity unfit, began Tempus Finis (the end of the world) and condemned everyone, forcing it to restart. because if no one is around and the world ends then that means there's peace, right? ~logic~. in her canon, there's a whole thing of "the soul remembers", so while this great desire for peace still exists, it's (fortunately) not taken to the extreme in this current cycle. but the impact on her soul is still there, like a 'would bring about the end of the world to achieve peace' type of scar of a deep, dark desire.
+ rem's current biggest desire is to become strong enough to 1) protect those she cares about and 2) to live. rem can, does, and will sacrifice souls in order to achieve power, and she has already sacrificed her humanity to achieve a portion of it. because of conditioning and indoctrination, she does not see anything wrong with harvesting and consuming souls, be they human or otherwise.
Are you alright with Misaki referencing what she picks up from this?
+ in brackets, totally okay! if misaki is going to state things outright in the open, would prefer a heads up, as it would probably cause a negative/avoidant reaction from rem.

May she hack into posts that are not marked unbreakable? generally yes but ask first depending on the specific thread

May she hack into posts that are not marked unbreakable? Sure thing though he really has no idea why.

Shadow Reading
Briefly describe their darkest wishes, most repressed desires, or just their intrusive thoughts that she'd pick up on.
- He's a failure as a father, husband, detective and a man. Even if Dojima consciously tries to work on those feelings, they're still there, deep inside.
- Especially the father bit. Nanako nearly died, he thought she was gone, and all the guilt of being a shit dad to her since her mother died still eats him up inside.
- He's angry at himself that he had to leave the solving of a serial murder case to his nephew and a bunch of his teenage friends because of literally, magic powers. Something that shouldn't exist in his world but turns out, whoops, they do!
- He's deeply torn over the fact he should hate his ex-junior partner, Adachi, for everything that he did to Inaba and his family, and indeed, part of him does. But another part still cares and refuses to give up on the dumbass. This conflict of emotions weighs him down sometimes, as he knows anyone else-- everyone else save maybe Souji has written the man off, and perhaps rightfully so.
- Sure is great being the weakest link of the crew, compared to literal gods, might as well be gods, magic power wielding teenagers and a robot man that can use robot animals to fight for him. Him being from a mostly mundane world (so he thought) hasn't helped much.
- Related to this, he wonders/mostly believes the bottled ship that he received must had actually been intended for his nephew, Souji Seta. A bitter feeling of knowing that this kid who he'd want to protect can do the job better than he ever could.
- He's. Uh. Struggling with maybe being attracted to another male crew member when he thought he was 100% straight. Also guilt cause, you know. He's a widower, catching feelings feels like betraying his wife, even if she's gone.
Basically-- Inferiority Complex, extreme regret, powerlessness and a bit of fear of queer?
Are you alright with Misaki referencing what she picks up from this? Yes but maybe be a bit gentle if we don't wanna go into full on Negative CR. Prodding about what powers his Nephew had that needed to be used to solve a murder case would be a good start, for example?

Re: Shadow Reading (CW: Suicide mention)
Briefly describe their darkest wishes, most repressed desires, or just their intrusive thoughts that she'd pick up on.
-He's someone who prides himself on his masculinity. So a literal gender-bender curse that forces him to turn into a girl messes with him a lot. He's grown to tolerate it by now, but he still wants it gone no matter what and be himself wholly for good.
-There's also his severe ailurophobia due to an incident from his childhood where his father threw him into a pit of cats while covered in meat with the express purpose of traumatizing his son to cats so he'd suffer a mental break and regress psychologically to a cat. He's bitter to his father (amongst other reasons) for doing this to him, but there's a bit of self-hatred to himself for not being strong enough to just get over it already.
-He's not very good with being... Emotional isn't the right word, but more or less vulnerable. He hates being seen as weak and pitiful, and has been told what a man is and isn't allowed to do.
-Ranma's a very private person and not so immediate to trust others, both due to how he was raised and because he's been taken advantage of or manipulated by a lot of people taking advantage of his gullibility or good nature. At the same time, he's been blamed for nearly everything under the sun or have people quick to jump and judge him for misunderstandings or things that aren't his fault, no matter how many times he's tried to explain or prove otherwise.
-Ranma's only recently met his mother, and he's immediately attached to her and wants to make her proud no matter what. There's a slight issue with the fact that when Ranma was a toddler, his mother made him and his father sign a seppuku pledge stating that if either of them fail to uphold their end, all three of them would be forced to commit seppuku to regain honor. It only further made Ranma double down on proving his masculinity, outside of not wanting to die, to see his mother again. Because of this, he's also harboring some deep insecurities deep down that he could be responsible for his entire family's death if he doesn't live up to her mother's expectations.
-As a martial artist and cause of his heart, Ranma actively goes out of his way to help any and everyone in need, even if the person in need of help had tried killing him several times. He's got a habit of putting himself in the way of helping people who'd either turn around and act like he's done nothing for them or immediately try to backstab him the moment they get. That, and even when he's not directly responsible for things, he still feels an obligation to help others or make things up for others, like when Nabiki sold him out for dates to several students, which Ranma did follow through since he felt responsible since they spent money on him.
-Minor, but he's got some backwards or insane logic when it comes to masculinity thanks to his upbringing. For example: Eating sugary sweets is unmanly, meaning if he wants to eat ice cream, he'd use his curse to spare himself an embarrassment that'd never come.
Are you alright with Misaki referencing what she picks up from this? Sure, though Ranma'll really not be very happy hearing things he wanted secret coming from someone's mouth.

May she hack into posts that are not marked unbreakable? Yep, Emet's too old to bother learning how to crypto-lock his shit, lol

'Briefly'... Oh boy.
- Emet-Selch really, really, REALLY misses his home.
- This man is pining intensely for someone or several someones who are no longer here.
- He wants both his home and those special people back.
- He wants them back badly enough that there is almost nothing he won't do for it.
- Sometimes he can be caught thinking very unkind thoughts about vaguely irritating things the other crew members do (e.g. making a lot of noise where he's trying to rest, and small, dickish things you'd get annoyed at someone about but would never voice aloud).
- But at the same time, he oscillates between nostalgia, ennui, dissatisfaction, wistfulness, amusement, and even fondness when the crew find joy in something simple or silly.
- Actually, Misaki will probably wonder just how a single man is capable of feeling so much and yet expressing so little on his face.
- (She definitely will realise that his indifferent persona is an act.)
Are you alright with Misaki referencing what she picks up from this? Yes, but I can't promise she won't get a little...gentle menacing for it
